Holy Baptism is an important sacrament in the Christian Church because it is the door of the spiritual life. In the sacrament we attest that the newly baptised is a member of the body of Christ, and part of our family.
Baptisms are usually held on either of the two Sunday services (7.30am at Mossman or 9.30am at Port Douglas).

Baptism is a joyful celebration of God’s gift. Baptism is also an important and solemn step because in baptism Jesus Christ makes disciples, calling us to take up our own cross, following him or in the case of infant baptism godparents take on that responsibility of passing on that commitment when the child reaches an age of maturity and attempting to model that life.
Baptismal candidates are presented with a candle, certificate and a New Testament, as a gift from the parish.
